Antinori, Chianti Classico (Tuscany, Italy) 2008

Nov 9, 2011

By Michael Apstein

From Antinori’s Pèppoli estate, this Chianti Classico is a blend of Sangiovese (90%) with Merlot and Syrah.  The Merlot and Syrah beef up the Sangiovese lending supple fruitiness without dominating or overwhelming Tuscany’s traditional grape.  Bright vibrant acidity, a hallmark of Tuscan wines, amplify the flavors in the finish.  Polished tannins allow enjoyment now.
