This label — a single wine each vintage — continues to impress with its ripe style that’s nicely reined in. A plush texture carries classic Napa Valley characteristics of blackberry, cassis pepper and dried herbs in a way that gets at both old and new school styles. A little chocolate note finishes things off. Cary Gott has been doing this for a while, and it shows once again. Contains 5% Petit Verdot.
