Barboursville Vineyards, Virginia (United States) Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Apr 14, 2021

By Rich Cook

Just as I was about to write glowingly about this wine coming from an unexpected source, I recalled that I’ve written about previous vintages from Barboursville Vineyards, who has clearly come up with a perfect spot to plant the variety.  It’s quite complex, with layered lemon, lime, soft grass and stony minerality all present from start to finish.  Seems to me like the perfect pairing for east coast oysters.  A Platinum Award winner at the 2021 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.
