Jac Cole, the chief winemaker at Spring Mountain Vineyard, is the man behind Bella Vetta, which is his own label. Ami’s Vineyard is the vineyard and it’s named after Jac’s wife, Ami. So a family affair. This vintage expresses an uncommon elegance for Howell Mountain, which is renowned for its depth and power. The 2008 exhibits layers of red and black fruit aroma, with pronounced oak vanillin and spice. Easy to drink now, it will be even better in another year or two.
