BenMarco, Mendoza (Argentina) 2009

By Michael Apstein

Argentina does produce red wine without using Malbec.  And good ones at that.  Here one of them.  A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) and equal amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this young and vigorous wine is filled with spice and black fruit flavors.   It’s a good choice with hearty fare as the temperature drops.
