The proprietary name “Oonapais” here refers to the Buckeye trees that grow on Sonoma Mountain above the valley. The wine within is a vibrant expression of deep blackberry fruit, with notes of spice and mocha adding layers of complexity and interest. It’s just starting to unwind – decant well or age five years or so before going in. A Platinum Award winner at the 2021 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge.
