Noah and Kelly Dorrance who founded Banshee in 2008 and then moved on to Reeve Wines are now part of the BloodRoot team, said to be sort of a secret collaboration with several other winemakers. This edition of “Undertow" brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache and a small touch of Sangiovese. With a little aeration, the aroma emphasizes blackberry and plum fruit with a hint of tobacco leaf. Medium bodied with pleasing plum and spice on the palate, it comes across as an approachable Cabernet with light tannin in a ready to drink style.
