El Espino was created to focus on a modern style of Ribera del Duero wines. It has the power of a traditional style, but is quite smooth and lush in the mouth with ripe black cherry, blackberry aromas and flavors lifted by crisp acidity and finishing with well-integrated tannins. The grapes are sourced from three different vineyards. Half the grapes underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and half in second-use French oak barrels. It was aged in French oak barrels, 20% new, for 12 months, then four months in tanks, bottled in September 2022.
