Bric Cenciurio, Barolo (Piedmont, Italy) 2009

Jul 20, 2013

By Michael Franz

Gorgeous from stem to stern, this wine is a fantastic success in 2009.  It shows very little overt oak, but the wood that is present is just prominent enough to structure the strongly appealing sweetness of the fruit in perfect balance.  Soft floral aromas make a delightful first impression, and on the palate, pure red fruit notes are accented with delicate impression of baking spices.  Remarkably soft and open, even for a 2009, this will prove very difficult to resist during the next few years.
