Bartholomew Broadbent grew up in the wine trade. His father Michael Broadbent MW was the Director of Christie’s Auction House in London. You have probably heard of and enjoyed the fortified wine from the Island of Madeira, but did you know that dry white wines are made there, too? This Branco, Portuguese for “white," has intriguing, savory aromas and flavors of citrus zest, hints of dried mustard and fresh cucumber, mango and grapefruit. It paired beautifully with a salad of Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes dressed with oil, and vinegar that echoed the wine’s flavors.
