“Youthful” and “approachable” are words that don’t often appear in the same sentence when it comes to Petite Sirah when the bottle in question is of very recent vintage (I recently tasted a bottle from 2004 that seemed youthful and approachable), but they fit well as descriptors for this 2021 offering. The tannins are already fairly polished, letting the ripe fruit character shine with complementary fall spice and toffee notes that linger long together. This is a producer to keep an eye on.
