I have been waiting for more than a decade to see high-quality wines begin to flow from Bulgaria, and now I have finally found a few. This is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet and Syrah, one that shows good concentration and depth of flavor as well as some aromatic complexity, probably due to having a few years of bottle ageing. The fruit shows interesting savory qualities, but also retains nice freshness and punch, so there’s no issue regarding this heading downward in quality anytime soon.
