Long time Baja California winemaker Camilo Magoni, formerly the head of winemaking at L.A. Cetto, has struck out on his own with a large line up of wines from this old, yet new wine region. This blend of Sangiovese, Aglianico, Canaiolo, Montepulciano and Cabernet Sauvignon delivers a bright mix of red fruit, with cherry and raspberry taking the lead and joined by soft spice, tobacco and wood notes. It’s quite chocolaty on the finish, with bright acid and a touch of dusty earth. It will make a fine accompaniment for game bird or a hearty winter stew.
