Casa Magoni, Valle de Guadalupe (Baja California, Mexico) Chardonnay – Vermentino 2018

Mar 1, 2022

By Miranda Franco

Camillo Magoni, of Casa Magoni hails from Valtellina, Italy.  Magoni moved to the Baja region in 1965, after studying viticulture and enology in Alba.  He worked for almost fifty years at the L.A. Cetto winery and was one of the early champions of transforming and promoting wines from Valle de Guadalupe.  In 2013, the Magoni family introduced their first portfolio of wines available to the public.  Today, the Magoni family is one of the largest growers in the area.  This delightful Chardonnay supported by Vermentino harkens back to Magoni’s Italian heritage.  This balanced, modern-style Chardonnay-Vermentino shows its coastal terroir and boasts green apple, grapefruit peel, and tropical fruit with a hint of salinity.  Refreshing acidity runs throughout the palate, answering the wine’s rich depth and creating a lively finish.
