This wine is made by the 2nd and 3rd generation owners of the Castello Vicchiomaggio estate in Greve, the northeastern-most sector of Chianti Classico. It reads like a textbook example of Sangiovese (100%), with aromas of juicy, black cherries with a hint of spice and leather; backed by very good balance and a slightly dusty, bittersweet element to the fine grained tannins.
