According to Caymus winemaker Chuck Wagner, Caymus Cabernets are a blend of mountain brawn and valley supple, “creating dimension and richness in character.” Wagner further states that this character is “nuanced” with French oak aging for 16 months before bottling. The result is a Cabernet with a very deep ruby color, smoky oak, blackberry, vanilla and spicy oak aromas and flavors, layers of sweet fruit, full refined tannins, 14.4% alcohol and chewy texture. Despite its heft, this is a supple Cabernet that will reward with further bottle maturity.
