The Cecchi estate was established in 1893 near Castellina in Chianti. The vineyards are at a relatively high elevation with a southwestern exposure that yields elegant and aromatic wines. The 2021 Cecchi Riserva di Famiglia Chianti Classico is a lovely example of the Sangiovese grape. The nose shows pure red cherry and red plum scents with hints of roses, herbs, vanilla and baking spices. The red cherry and red plum fruits on the palate and are enhanced by elements of black cherry, earth, vanilla, and spice. This is a vibrant and exciting Chianti, with the brightness and purity that one seeks from the appellation. It offers pure Sangiovese fruit with an elegant style and a long finish – all at a great price.
