Chateau Belle-Vue, Mount Lebanon (Lebanon) 2012

By Miranda Franco

Chateau Belle-Vue is recognized as one of Lebanon’s premier boutique wineries and enjoys a cult following amongst US and European wine collectors.  Belle-Vue blends are aged for at least seven years before release.  Le Chateau, Belle-Vue’s fusion of Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2012 vintage, provides immense complexity, depth, and balance.  This over-a-decade-old blend provides sublime aromas of plum, cherry, and toasty oak.  On the palate, it delivers soft-knit textures and swells of ripeness alongside a spiced-red fruit core with hints of cocoa and leather notes.  Concentrated, long on the finish, and age-worthy, this is a winner across the board.
