Château de La Chaize, Brouilly (Beaujolais, Burgundy, France) 2017

Nov 27, 2020

By Michael Apstein

Brouilly, the largest of the ten Beaujolais cru, often disappoints. Thankfully, the 2017 from Château de La Chaize, one of the top producers of Brouilly, does not.  It has good concentration, zippy acidity that keeps it fresh and lively, and lots of juicy fruitiness.  Mild tannins mean this mid-weight wine would be just fine right now. It’s widely available, so if, at the last minute, you need something for the Thanksgiving table, this is it.
