A convincing rendering of Carmenere that shows marked varietal character with black fruit tones, a whiff of dried herbs, restrained wood and moderately assertive tannins, this is very successful. It is worth emphasizing that the herbal aroma is appealing rather than weedy or green, which is where Carmenere goes when not adequately ripened. This is indeed adequately ripe, yet not overly weighty, which will make it quite versatile with moderately robust foods while also able to hang in with beef or lamb dishes. A Double Gold award winner at the 2018 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.
