Château Recougne, Bordeaux Supérieur (Bordeaux, France) 2009

 As always, this “simple” Bordeaux is satisfying and a great value.  The herbal nuances that accompany the mixture of fruit flavors are what make it so appealing.  It has the length and grace you’d expect from a more expensive bottling.  Delightful now, I’d have no reservation about holding it for at least a decade because I’ve had 30 and yes, 40 year-old bottles of this wine that are stunningly good.
