While the Bourgeois family has been producing wine for several generations, in the 1950s Henri Bourgeois moved to Chavignol in the 1950s and began concentrating on Sancerre. Today the Bourgeois family has expanded their viticultural horizon to New Zealand, where they planted vines and are turning out some excellent wines. Their “Petit Clos” Sauvignon Blanc may indeed evoke pleasant memories of Sancerre with its bright, flinty notes punctuated by salinity and notable minerality, positioned side-by-side on the palate with the fruitiness of peach, ripe apricot and lime. With good length and refreshing aftertaste, this is indeed a refreshing and tasty white wine. The fruit is certified organic.
