Old-fashioned in that it exhibits firm tannins and rustic secondary notes, but quite new-fangled due to its lush, even luscious bright berry fruit, this wine seems tailor-made to accompany hearty meat dishes such as barbecued ribs or hearty cold weather stews. Drink it this winter, or hold on to it for summer barbecue season.
