This Mencía from Ribeira Sacra (“Sacred Banks”) in Galicia offers great aromatic complexity with enticing mineral, balsamic, and raspberry notes. It is concentrated and lively on the palate with silky tannins. It is full of dark fruit flavors with a nice burst of acid and minerality. This is an elegant wine that expresses its place beautifully. It is also a wonderful food wine. The wine’s crisp acidity cuts through rich dishes, and its soft tannins won’t overpower delicate foods.
