Damilano, Barbera d’Asti (Piedmont, Italy) 2010

Feb 8, 2012

By Paul Lukacs

A classic-tasting Piedmontese Barbera, meaning marked by vivid plum and dark cherry fruit enhanced by deep earthy undertones, this is a wine with a dry, almost dusty finish that melts away when paired with food.  A great choice to have with Italian-American foods like old-fashioned spaghetti with meatballs or veal parmigiana, it also should age gracefully for a good five years or more.
