A serious wine from the Morgon “cru,” this Beaujolais is deeply colored and flavored, with earthy undertones that hint at rusticity while the more dominant fruity ones suggest something more urbane. It’s an intriguing red, with a somewhat paradoxical character but a forceful personality. As with any truly first-rate wine, drinking it compels contemplation.
