Domaine Damien Pinon, Vouvray (Loire Valley, France) 2020

 This 100% Chenin Blanc is from organically farmed vineyards and the wine is not your typical Vouvray.  The flagship of Domaine Damien Pinon, this “Sec” showcases the chalky, limestone rich soils of Vernou-sur-Brenne in Vouvray.  Full-flavored and dry, it begins with an enticing aroma of peach and pear fruit with a hint of lychee.  On the palate it is medium bodied but has a plush texture and concentrated flavors of peach and green apple.  Well-balanced with good acidity, it also has a pleasing touch of chalky character in its flavors and especially in its vibrant finish.
