Domain Vincent Careme’s 2021 Le Clos Vouvray is classic and pretty. At first whiff, the wine shows the wooly, funky note stereotypical of Chenin Blanc, but the scent is refined and delicate, followed by sumptuous aromas of mangoes and stone fruit. In the mouth, the wine is punchier, with bright yellow apple and lemon character. This full bodied, textural wine fades to a staying, bitter citrus finish.
