There are touches of "cult of personality" in the promotion of the Frank wines which may actually detract from how good they are without all that historic baggage. This sparkler is quite enjoyable, with the traditional Champagne mix of grapes and rich flavors of tart apples, lots of minerality, persistent bubbles and a quite lean structure, although it falters just a little at the finish. Very Champagne-like.
