Dry Creek grafted old vine bud wood into a new vineyard, yielding “the best of a young vine Zin with distinctive old vine characteristics.” The color is deep and black with brilliant ruby tones along the edges. The aromatics are slightly closed but still showing blackberry jam and some American oak. It has good texture and fruit, a little jammy, balancing acidity, 13.5% alcohol and no heat in the big concentrated finish. This Heritage Zin is a tasty wine at a good price.
