Elvio Cogno, Barolo (Piedmont, Italy) 2008

 This exceptionally consistent wine is terrific once again in the 2008 vintage, showing exceptional balance and integration that give it a profile marked above all by purity and a sense of naturalness.  Lovely floral aromas get it off to a great start, followed by deep and persistent flavors that are framed but fresh acidity and very subtle oak.
