Envínate is an exciting project from Spain, focusing on making terroir-driven wines from mainly Atlantic-influenced regions. Albahra ("small sea" in the local dialect) Chingao is Envínate’s 100% Garnacha Tintorera grown in the Almansa region of Spain. Almansa is a relatively unknown wine region, halfway between La Mancha and the Mediterranean Coast, that’s churning out some noteworthy wines. The 2021 Albahra Chingao delivers deep, juicy, supple aromas of raspberry, cherry skin, muddled strawberry, crushed rose petal, and sweet baking spice. It is vibrant and seamless on the palate, filling the mouth with smooth tannins, gorgeous swells of ripe berry fruit, and just the right amount of savoriness.
