With their 15%+ stated alcohols, I find most current Zinfandels far too flamboyant and over-the-top. So imagine my pleasant surprise when I tasted this one. With its combination of red and black fruit flavors, spice and briary notes, it reminded me of those distinctive and engaging Zinfandels of the past.
