Far Niente has been firing on all cylinders for as long as I can remember, but recent vintages suggest a slight shift to a denser, more extracted style and the 2015 vintage is right there on that score. This richly layered vintage shows aromas of cassis and blackberry, with a hint of lead pencil and cedar on the nose. The tannins are ample but beautifully integrated, making for immediate enjoyment while providing the bones necessary to age well if that is the desired goal. Drink now or over the next 25 years. A triumph for a winery that already knows a thing or two about success.
