Fontanafredda, Serralunga d’Alba Barolo DOCG (Italy) 2009

Apr 12, 2014

By Robert Whitley

This vintage from Fontanafredda shows a tarry nose, with notes of dried cherry and herbs. On the palate it exhibits outstanding richness for young Barolo, backed by firm tannins and bright acidity. With exceptional persistence of flavor through a long and satisfying finish, this is a Barolo that can be enjoyed young, but it will no doubt continue to evolve and improve over the next several years.
