It figures that Petite Sirah, the hearty grape that makes the heartiest of red wines, could not only survive the horrors of the 2011 vintage, but thrive. And thrive it did for Foppiano’s RRV Petite, which shows an inviting savory note on the nose, juicy blue fruits on the palate, and fine, nicely integrated tannins that deliver a bit of bite on the finish. Fire up the grill, throw on a thick steak and enjoy.
