Freemark Abbey’s Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon from the excellent 2012 vintage is an impressive offering from Cabernet master Ted Edwards. This powerhouse exhibits deep flavors of black currant and blackberry with an inviting note of spice. On the palate the wine sings, showing fine, beautifully integrated tannins and layered fruit complexity, with a finish that lingers and begs another sip. Beautifully structured and balanced, it is a superb example of the quality of the 2012 vintage in the Napa Valley.
