Frescobaldi produces several Chiantis and Chianti Classicos, and this is one of my favorites, well worthy of the Gran Selezione designation that so often disappoints. With this one, you quickly note the richness of flavors, both mellow and vibrant at the same time. They are led by blackberry and cassis fruits housed within an excellent structure. The signature Sangiovese raspiness is here, but it accents, not dominates, the fruit, and everything is finished off with a crisp ending.
