Tannat is Uruguay’s signature variety, and Garzon is one of the major wineries with wide distribution. This Reserva is deep and dark in appearance and its spicy plum fruit quickly asserts itself with airing. Medium-bodied, it opens to reveal plum flavors intermingled with hints of licorice, green pepper and spice. A touch of oak comes through in the finish, which is amazingly long due to decent acidity and well managed tannins.
