Petar Georgiev and Radostin Milkov are shining stars in the Bulgarian wine scene, crafting wines like their 2023 “Pink Side of Rubin” that is a vibrant and utterly unique Rosé made from the Rubin variety. Rubin is an indigenous Bulgarian grape born from a 1944 crossing of Syrah and Nebbiolo. Sourced from their 40-year-old vineyard near the village of Brestovitza in southern Bulgaria, this wine is a true testament to their craft. On the palate, it’s plush and irresistibly drinkable, with medium body and a lively profile of juicy red fruits like strawberry and raspberry. A touch of spice and zippy acidity add complexity, leading to a long, satisfying finish.
