Giesen, Marlborough (New Zealand) Pinot Noir 2012

Mar 18, 2015

By Robert Whitley

Giesen’s Waihopi Vineyard Pinot Noir is more typical of what you might expect from a pinot in the Marlborough district, which can be downright cold at times. It is lighter in color and shows less intensity on the nose and palate that other vineyard-designate pinots from Giesen. That said, the gentle whiff of strawberry and cherry is hardly to be taken lightly, for this is an elegant pinot that makes up for in finesse what it lacks in power.
