From the oldest block of Grenache from the neighboring Jaxon Vineyard, this Grenache is a selection of the winemaker’s favorite wine lots. Those selected stood out for being “Pinot Noir-ish,” and the wine is indeed not your typical Grenache. After a long cold soak and a 22-day fermentation with some whole clusters, the wine was aged 18 months in neutral French oak. The nose offers up loads of vibrant cherry and strawberry fruit notes that carry over into the smooth flavors. There’s a touch of earthiness in the nicely textured finish.
