Goosecross Cellars, Yountville – Napa Valley (California) State Line Vineyard, Holly’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 ($185)

Located on the east side of the valley along the Silverado Trail in Yountville, Goosecross has steadily increased quality, here with a very lean, mouth-watering wine that begs for a rare strip steak. It is crisp with dried blackberry fruit, leathery notes and lip-smacking tannins. It is one of those wines that will round out with time, but it may be better as a food wine now.
