Portugal is the country that consumes the most wine per capita, and consumption has been increasing.  It’s understandable when you begin to explore the diversity and quality of Portuguese wines.  And areas like Alentejo, Dão, and Bairrada have produced wine for centuries.  Notably, the Alentejo region is the country’s largest wine region and is known for its renaissance of amphora winemaking and the rise of artisanal producers and diverse styles.  This 2022 Antão Vaz from Alentejo has captivating aromatics, offering a bouquet that combines a delightful mix of white flowers, citrus blossoms, and a touch of ripe tropical fruit.  It is fresh and expressive yet rounded and thus immediately captures your attention.  Its citrus flavors come in towards the end, giving a bright character to the lingering finish.
