Bordeaux blends of Rosés often come out somewhat awkward, as neither the flavors nor structure seems to want to be muted into a less-assertive format. But Hoopes make its work, led by a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc aged in 70% stainless and 30% used oak. The wine has its own delightful personality – medium body with flavors of orange backed up by ripe red cherries and a hint of watermelon with a dollop of cream in the finish without losing its freshness.
