The examples of this designation in 2017 tend toward the lighter side stylistically thanks to the vintage weather conditions. This wine does so as well, but that is not to say it isn’t worth seeking out. It’s approachable now for its fruit forward style and more relaxed structure than the wines from the surrounding vintages and that’s not a negative at all. To me, wines that tell the truth about their time are some of the most compelling, and this offering doesn’t disappoint on any front.
