Joseph Faiveley, Gevrey-Chambertin (Burgundy, France) 2010

Feb 13, 2013

By Michael Franz

This is a very successful negociant wine in this vintage, showing the intensity and power of Gevrey, but also the characteristic freshness and lift of the 2010 growing season.  The dark cherry fruit shows both sweet and savory dimensions, with a firm spine from tannin and oak, yet the finish is already quite generously flavorful.  Hold this for five years if you can.
