This features a pretty, pure nose with expressive floral topnotes and a fresh, feminine profile. It is a little lighter in weight than many of the 2009 Barbareschi, but there’s no lack of expressiveness to the ripe fruit notes of red cherry and red raspberry, and indeed the wine is actually more distinctive and impressive for packing so much flavor into a relatively modest package.
