La Lisse, Haute Vallée de l’Aude (Languedoc-Roussillon, France) Chenin Blanc “Soie d’Ivoire” 2023 ($15, Boutinot USA)

This is a pure and refreshing Chenin that will delight your palate. La Lisse is in the Haute Vallée de l’Aude – in the foothills of the Pyrenees of southern France. The higher altitude and limestone soils seem to be a good site for Chenin Blanc grapes. The nose shows apple, pear, lemon and pineapple fruit notes backed by hints of flowers and herbs. On the palate, it is bright and lively with the racy acidity of the Chenin Blanc and a dry finish. The fruit flavors are deliciously pure and enhanced by the floral complexity.
