Luis Seabra has been at the center of a cultural shift in Portuguese winemaking, leading a movement of young winemakers reclaiming historical vineyards, grape varieties, and techniques. Seabra’s 50% Rabigato, 20% Codega, 15% Gouveio (also known as Godello), and 10% Viosinho come from 30 to 45-year-old vines on steep terraced slopes in Cima Corgo, not far from the Spanish border. In the glass, pear blossom, peach, and lemon zest aromas jump out, followed by waves of crushed rocks and sea salt notes on the palate. It is zesty and focused and offers endless pairing possibilities.
